Network & System Technician
About this position
The Network & System Technician will assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment, provide technical support, perform routine monitoring, and collaborate on system upgrades.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points, to facilitate efficient data transmission and connectivity.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users regarding network connectivity, hardware/software issues, and system performance.
• Perform routine network monitoring and system health checks to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations.
• Assist in the administration and maintenance of Windows servers, including user account management, file/print services, and backup procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network and system upgrades, patches, and security enhancements in accordance with established protocols.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
• Assist in conducting security audits and implementing remediation measures to protect network infrastructure and systems against cyber threats.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to contribute innovative ideas for enhancing network and system performance and reliability.
• Other related tasks assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of practical experience in network administration, systems support, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, subnetting, VLANs, and basic routing protocols.
• Experience with Windows/Linux server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and basic scripting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Cisco CCNA, ITIL) would be advantageous.
• Good command of English both spoken and written.
