About this position

The R&D Packaging Team Lead will oversee the development and optimization of packaging solutions for new and existing food products. They will lead a team of packaging engineers and technicians, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure packaging designs meet regulatory, quality, sustainability, and cost-efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, development, and testing of packaging solutions for new and existing food products.
• Ensure that packaging designs meet the company's quality, sustainability, and cost objectives.
• Lead and mentor a team of packaging engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Drive innovation in packaging materials, technologies, and processes to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to food packaging.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct packaging validation and testing to meet quality and safety standards.
• Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to ensure packaging solutions are aligned with overall business objectives.
• Manage relationships with packaging suppliers, including the evaluation and selection of vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in packaging development within the food manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and regulations in the food, beverage and FMCG industry.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of driving innovation.
• Good command in English
