Purchasing Engineer
About this position
Responsibilities
• Manage the procurement process for direct materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery schedules.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet production requirements.
• Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to forecast and plan material needs.
• Monitor and analyze inventory levels, lead times, and production schedules.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure the stability of the supply chain.
• Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular reviews.
• Work closely with the production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure materials meet specifications.
• Stay updated on market trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing or material requirements planning management role.
• Proven experience in Direct Procurement and working with MRP systems.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English communication is required, and proficiency in Chinese will be considered an advantage.
