About this position

The Control and Instrument Engineer / Senior Control and Instrument Engineer is responsible for performing engineering and design activities related to control and instrumentation in various projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform control and instrument engineering and designing activities required in projects
• Be able to recommend and supervise for field instrument and cable installation e.g., material take off list, detail field instrument station support, cable tray and tray support, tubing and fitting design
• Be able to recommend and supervise for local control panel, marshaling cabinet and control system cabinet installation, termination and wiring
• Be able to recommend and supervise for simple logic control system e.g., relay base logic or small package PLC unit
• Be able to select explosive protected equipment as per hazardous area classification
• Be able to participate in technical clarification, and technical bid evaluation
• Be able to prepare material take off within project timeline
• Be able to participate and supervise FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, and the commissioning work of instrument item to comply with the applicable specifications, procedures, codes and standards
• Be able to prepare scope of work for construction

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or related field
• Have at least 8 years’ experience in oil and gas industry. However, experience in petrochemical industry also can be proposed for consideration
• Experience for at least 3 projects in brownfield project and modification work
• Expertise in PID control design, loop diagram, instrument control, PLC, DCS, instrument specification
• Expertise in engineering design for Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Fire and Gas (F&G) system
• Expertise in instrument engineering document and drawing package e.g., conceptual design, detail engineering, instrument index, instrument data sheet, cable schedule, loop diagram, hook up drawing
• Additional experience in construction or commissioning is preferable
• Hard worker, well organized, proactive, high leadership, teamwork attitude and problem solving in a timely manner
• Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can - do attitude and a desire to win
• Possess good interpersonal skills with excellent English communication skills
