About this position

The R&D Director at Amcor is responsible for providing strategic leadership in planning, developing, implementing, promoting, and evaluating technical and product innovations, with a focus on sustainability and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety as a core value and embed the right behaviours in R&D Team.
• Serve as an active member of the Amcor Asia Pacific R&D Leadership.
• Design Organisational for innovation, product change, field technical service, technology development, packaging laboratory services, product safety and sustainability.
• Develop and implement Platform and product roadmaps by end use segment to ensure Amcor remains at the forefront of flexible packaging technology in each end use segment including Customer/market trends, insights and needs for innovation.
• Participate, support and actively develop corporate / AFAP initiatives Develop an aligned R&D and Technical Service delivery model and strategy for the Amcor Flexible Thailand.
• Lead and support on a continuous change agenda advising on people decisions to drive effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory food and product safety requirements.
• Anticipate & capture the unarticulated needs and technology trends of the customer, end-users and market segments.
• Translate customer needs into opportunities, concepts and solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in R&D leadership roles within the packaging industry.
• Strong understanding of flexible packaging technologies and market trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to food and product safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
