Quality Control Engineer
About this position
The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
• Analyze test results and document findings, preparing detailed reports on quality metrics and trends.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformance issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train production staff on quality standards and procedures, promoting a culture of quality within the organization.
• Monitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to packaging materials and processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to enhance quality control practices.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in quality control or assurance within the flexible packaging or related industry.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM).
• Proficient in quality management systems and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in the packaging industry is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality control software.
