The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring effective procurement practices to align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
• Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, focusing on cost savings, quality, and supplier reliability.
• Supplier Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and conditions, ensuring favorable pricing and delivery schedules.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and addressing any performance issues.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, evaluate suppliers, and assess pricing structures, ensuring competitive procurement practices.
• Budget Management: Monitor and manage the procurement budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and finance teams to ensure alignment on procurement needs and objectives.
• Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities, reporting on progress and areas for improvement.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the flexible packaging or manufacturing industry.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous agreements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in using procurement software and ERP systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
