Field Technical Service (Maintenance Technician)
About this position
The primary purpose of this role is to provide service at customer sites for the implementation of new product structures and to address technical issues of current structures, resulting in a higher rate for the first time-right.
Responsibilities
• To provide service at customer site for new product implementation and technical issue of current structure, the results in higher rate for the first time-right
• Diagnosing Errors and Technical Problems:
• Troubleshoot issues.
• Determine proper solutions.
• Coordinate to Operating Packaging with production:
• Brainstorm with production team
• Finding action to solving issue
• Trial parameter to testing at customer’s machines
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Summary service reports.
• Present to customer and internal management team.
Internal Amcor coordination
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, RD and Sale with the acquisition of key information needed from the customer in order to support process improvement, solving issue, and new product development.
• Identify and help develop the key Amcor points of differentiation
• Support product simplification program by making sure that our key platform products can be run on the packaging lines and feedback to the team on critical performance characteristics to be achieved to serve this purpose
• Continuous building of superior product and filling process knowledge such that features, advantages and benefits are clearly articulated, with product demonstration
• Run trials on the packaging equipment to support product solving issue and product development efforts
• Develop operating windows for standard Amcor materials and publish information for presentation to customers
Support new business development through action including:
• Successfully qualifies new products at the customer location by actively support customer packaging trial from first attempt to industrial qualifications
• Resolve issues with packaging material/machine/product interactions
• Responsibility for communication of the result of all activities and follow up on actions within Amcor and with customers.
Improve relationships with customers through actions including
• Ensure that Amcor product remains differentiated by constantly selling its technical value to the customer as needed
• Ensure filling lines are running efficiently and manufacturing operations are maximized to run Amcor packaging product
• Involvement and Attend and /or displays at customer sites
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the packaging industry
• Solid understanding of flexible packaging converting processes (printing, laminating, film extrusion, forming and filling)
• Strong mechanical and electrical / electronic aptitudes
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience in customer service or other related customer-focused activities
