About this position

The Chief Project Engineer is a key member of the Engineering Department, responsible for leading and executing all Engineering projects within the hotel. This role will also provide support to the Chief Engineer (Operations) in the overall management and maintenance of all hotel facilities, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all hotel systems while prioritizing guest comfort, safety, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Lead and execute all Engineering projects. This includes project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and supervision of contractors.
• Departmental Support: Assist the Chief Engineer (Operations) in the overall management and maintenance of all hotel facilities, including facility maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and support to the engineering team in areas such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
• Energy Efficiency: Contribute to the development and implementation of energy-saving measures and initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment, with a strong emphasis on project management within the hospitality industry.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery within budget and on schedule.
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
