About this position

The AV Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of audiovisual operations within the hotel, ensuring seamless execution of events and meetings. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and a customer-centric approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate a wide range of audiovisual equipment, including projectors, microphones, speakers, lighting systems, and video conferencing systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and industry trends.
• Provide technical support for a variety of events, including conferences, meetings, weddings, and banquets.
• Set up and clear equipment as required, ensuring optimal sound and visual quality.
• Coordinate with banquet team and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Lead and manage a team of AV technicians.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and development opportunities.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of all AV equipment.
• Source and purchase new equipment as needed.
• Ensure proper maintenance and equipment checking.
• Assist in developing and managing the department's budget.
• Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage the procurement process for AV equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and installation.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure equipment is safe to use.
• Mentor and develop AV technicians to improve their skills and knowledge.
• Create a positive and supportive work environment.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and event planners.
• Proactively address guests concerns and exceed expectations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an AV Supervisor in a 4-5 star hotel or at least 4 years of experience in a large-scale hotel.
• Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment and systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
