About this position

The Transport VM Manager is responsible for managing the vendor acquisition process, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring competitive costs and quality in transport services. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, managing contracts, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to achieve operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage the vendor acquisition process to achieve competitive cost, best quality, and timely delivery from internal/external suppliers.
• Dealing and negotiating with 3PL and sub-contractors to deliver competitive cost and transport service for First-mile/Mid-mile/Last-Mile Delivery both dry, chill and reefer truck type.
• Responsible pricing for bidding process and responding queries to timely submission of RFQ.
• Define vendors and negotiate price for new business such import/export, shipping, inbound-outbound and cross-border transportation.
• Identifying cost reduction opportunities within the category delivering successful strategic plans to deliver savings and operational efficiencies.
• Develop various sourcing strategy model and explore new supply source to secure sufficient vendor choices.
• Develop cost structure benchmark with pricing protocol that support company pricing strategy.
• Efficiently manage process for vendor sourcing, AVL and transportation procurement as per business need.
• Manage SLA or contract agreement process that compliance to policy and business needs.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with existing suppliers.
• Research, analyze, and evaluate decisions regarding sourcing and transactional processes, policies, strategies, and projects.
• Explore new technology and supply source to secure sufficient supplier choice.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that subcontractor will meet KPIs and SLA.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected logistics processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Management, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other related fields.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Logistics, supply chain, and 3PL management.
• Experience in vendor sourcing and truck fleet management will be preferred.
• Good skill in MS office and Transport management system.
• Strategic thinking with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Be proactive to propose and develop new ideas.
• People management skills also good cooperation with the concerned party.
• Good negotiation, problem-solving & convincing skills.
• Good in the communication of Thai and English conversation and presenting.
