Last Mile Operations Management Supervisor
About this position
The Last Mile Operations Management Supervisor is responsible for the operational management of transportation networks, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness while meeting service levels and safety standards.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the operational management in order efficiency and effectiveness to assigned.
• To develop and control transportation network to align with demand, services level, safety manner, and quality.
• Manage on-demand logistic planning, delivery of business outcomes excellence with strong disciplinary operational KPI and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Monitoring standard of transportation practices including planning daily, route control service level, checking & maintaining the vehicle on schedule, accident management, call service and managing and planning sub-contractor to economize transportation cost.
• Conduct a necessary investigation to determine the cause of problems like accidents for level (if any arises) and to collaborate set up safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues.
• Develop and implement plans that will lead to improvement performance and cost.
• Operating team members in order to achieve both KPIs as well as a company and customer requirements.
• Manage day-to-day operations and deal with subcontractors to secure enough resources for the operation.
• Manage people to deliver standards and routines work to ensure optimal availability cost target.
• To initiative actions and contingency plan for support peak demand and fluctuation volume in order to ensure that we are able to maintain service level under variance constraints.
• Coaching team members on a daily job basis and providing timely feedback on their performance to ensure they obtain a holistic understanding of the business vision.
Requirements
• Bachelors or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistic, Business Administration.
• Good knowledge of the procedures and modes of transport operations management.
• At least 5 years of working experience in transport operations will be preferred.
• Good understanding of transportation, 3PL, or logistics service provider business.
• Must possess good communication skills, with emphasis on the ability to effectively procedure and distribute information across different units within and outside the firm.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also to lead a team when the opportunity arises.
• Good analytical skills, proven problem-solving ability with a solutions orientation.
• Good negotiation skills and excellent decision-making ability.
