About this position

To manage R&D activities and day-to-day operations through supervising and management of a team. Develop and implement an operational plan and objectives for the team within corporate guidelines, plans and policies within own unit.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, prioritize the work & ensuring execution and delivery of agreed plans.
• Implement activities to deliver technical support to cross functions like sales, marketing, operations and purchasing etc.
• Ensuring preparation, testing, developing, analysing and researching elements (e.g. problems, questions, ideas) in own discipline.
• Attracting, leading, coaching, appraising and developing team members.
• Demonstrating and driving safety leadership; including ISO 9000, OHSAS18000 and ISO14000, Product Stewardship, SAQ, DPP2, HSE&S improvement plan.
• Conduct the training for operators to know the potential fire, explosion, or toxic release hazards related to their job and the process.
• Advise any hazards presented on workplace.

Requirements

• BSc in Chemistry or equivalent.
• 10 years of R&D in Paints / Coating or related chemical industry.
• Good interpersonal and communication skill.
• Good project management and time management skill.
• Good practical, analytical and laboratory skill.
• Independent, resourceful and self motivated.
