About this position

The Quality Manager (Paint/Coating) will be responsible for leading quality initiatives, managing customer complaints, and ensuring compliance with quality standards across the South Asia powder coatings site.

Responsibilities

• Lead South Asia powder coatings site key quality incidents and escalated customer complaints, non-conformities on root cause analysis and set up preventive actions with all relevant parties when required.
• Harmonize and be a bridge of best practice sharing relevant to quality to all the sites across the region.
• Organize routine meeting to review safety/quality performance and stress day’s focus.
• Manage the raw material and product quality and achieve set targets.
• Set up department procedure document and ensure that is executed.
• Support root cause analysis on customer, internal process and product related issues and drive corrective/preventive actions to eliminate the problems at the source.
• Provide training regarding basics and key subjects in quality tools for subordinates.
• Implements the regional quality strategy to secure customer certification and product and process quality including complaint handling.
• Create and maintain site quality management system (ISO based) based on global and regional directions.
• Review customer requirements and initiate activities to make sure they are met.
• Lead, support and participate in quality related activities such as business and continuous improvement projects, customers satisfaction activities, problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Lead, support and participate in customer audits, Internal audits (ISO internal audit and QSAQ) and after sales approval projects.
• Support procurement to set quality requirements from external suppliers and participate in supplier audits.
• Monitor Cost of (poor) Quality (CoPQ) and initiate actions to reduce the CoPQ.
• Ensure there is process in place for customer complaint handling, including reporting, analysis and continuous improvement of processes to reduce complaints.
• Be familiar with all applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures regarding personal conduct/HSE standards and acts in compliance with all regulations.
• Improve RFT on total quality cost improvement.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering / Polymer or equivalent.
• 10 years of QA/QC working experience in manufacturing environment; Chemical / Color / Coating production experience will be advantage.
• Knowledge in Quality System, ISO9000, TS16949.
• Operation excellence experience, Green Belt & above is preferred.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
