About this position

The Engineering Manager at AkzoNobel is responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of installations through preventive maintenance and inspection plans, as well as managing capital projects to support site operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the department contributes and adds value to the manufacturing sites objectives (time, resources/budget, quality, stakeholder satisfaction) and adheres to national standards and legislation and AkzoNobel standards for maintainability in all capital projects and Turnarounds at the site.
• Provide adequate leadership to ensure an open constructive (safety) dialogue with the shop floor and strict compliance and adherence to AkzoNobel’s Life Saving rules.
• Secure compliance with applicable AkzoNobel policies, guidelines, processes, methodologies, working methods and systems.
• Achieve functional excellence in local codes/standards, total productive maintenance, manufacturing support, problem solving, project management and BBS.
• Drive continuous improvement in overall long term maintenance costs and maintenance replacement capex requirements, with year-on-year improvement expected from the elimination of bad actors, optimizing the maintenance concept and modification/selection of appropriate equipment configuration/materials.

Requirements

• Master or Bachelor in mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• Knowledge and experience in maintenance management/engineering is a pre.
• Minimum 5 year experience in managing a group of 10-15 people.
• Project management.
