Thailand is an important customer base for Airbus in the Asia-Pacific region across the company’s commercial aircraft, defence, space and helicopter product lines. With a local presence that spans over 40 years, Airbus’ footprint in Thailand also extends to a Flight Operations Services Centre and a regional helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility.

About this position

The Flight Ops Author (FOA) supports flight ops engineers in authoring practice, and contributes to the content and the setting of the configuration of the flight operational documentation. The FOA has an extended knowledge of XML and operational data models (DTD) in the defined scope of the operational documentation. The technical scope includes the flight operations manuals of all A220, the tools to author manuals, the models and the production environment. The defined scope of manuals of the operational documentation for the FOA is limited to the following: FCOM, QRH, FCTM, MMEL, AFM. For regular business, the FOA mainly interfaces with the Flight operation engineers (FOEs) and documentation illustrators, and Airbus department in charge of the setting of the configuration and effectivity.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of configuration change, and simplification of configuration. In the case of a new combination, the FOA proposes new content to be validated by a FOE.
• Investigation of configuration inconsistencies, or aircraft effectivity issues with the A220 Configuration System.
• On FOE request, authoring of documentary units (illustrations, content, configuration) to simplify the complexity of the operational documentation and application of authoring standards (validation by FOE).
• Authoring of content and request of illustrations based on mockup (validation by FOE).
• Authoring of metadata and attributes, in accordance with authoring guides.
• Continuous update of the authoring database.
• Supports and assists FOE in testing of new versions of the authoring tools for user acceptance

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Aeronautical or appropriate field with equivalent
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in aircraft system and/or flight operations documentation
• Sturdy knowledge of IT tools and particularly in the authoring of structured documentation in XML (Desirable)
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• General knowledge of aircraft systems
• Advanced level of communication skills in English
• Good team player
• Fresh graduated are welcome
