Purchasing Engineer
About this position
The Purchasing Engineer is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the procurement of quality materials and components in a cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure the most cost effective method of shipment to dispatch material.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to determine material and component requirements.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and other procurement documents for a report.
• Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the procurement process.
• Analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
• Negotiate favorable pricing and payment terms with suppliers, including follow up for clearance of all coming engineering aircraft items.
• Ensure that procured materials and components meet quality standards and specifications.
• Work with quality assurance teams to implement quality control measures and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse to ensure adequate stock.
• Implement inventory control strategies to minimize excess inventory and stockouts.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or any related fields.
• At least 7 years of direct experiences in a position of Purchasing Engineer, Procurement Engineer or any related positions.
• Experience working with airlines or related industries (would be advantageous).
• Good knowledge of market research with solid analytical skills.
• Understanding of quality control and assurance principles.
• Strong communication in English and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization.
• Good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.
• Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities.
• Excellent Judgment and professional maturity with prioritizing and task achievable.
• Can work at Don Mueang International Airport.
