About this position

The Mechanical (Asst Manager/Engineer/Supervisor) is responsible for supervising mechanical maintenance activities in the chlor-alkali plant, focusing on the Caustic and ECH plants to maximize availability while minimizing costs and ensuring safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise—Caustic: To plan, organize, supervise, and monitor Mechanical maintenance activities in the chlor-alkali overall plant, especially in the Caustic plant and Block Jobs Activities in the complex, to maximize plant availability at minimum maintenance cost while maintaining safety and environmental standards with the available resources to meet the production targets.
• Supervise – ECH: To plan, organize, supervise & monitor Mechanical maintenance activities in the Chlor alkali overall plant, especially in the ECH plant and Block Jobs Activities in the complex to maximize plant availability at minimum maintenance cost while maintaining safety & environmental standards with the available resources to meet the production targets.
• To plan, supervise, and coordinate mechanical-related PM activities of the Caustic & ECH plant to maximize equipment availability.
• To prepare PM schedule and support subordinates to complete the PM through SAP in time and with quality for the Caustic & ECH plant.
• To do daily and monthly planning.
• To improve the reliability of the mechanical equipment in the Caustic & ECH plant.
• To review the schedule in consultation with process requirements and take necessary actions.
• To ensure timely implementation of maintenance activities and reduce PM slippage.
• To report and record the condition of equipment and inform HOD of corrective actions if required.
• To coordinate and organize daily maintenance activities in the concerned areas.
• To supervise pending PM jobs, shutdown work and abnormalities and take corrective actions for their elimination.
• To do troubleshooting of all types of field equipment.
• To support the day-to-day troubleshooting of equipment to ensure the smooth running of the plant.
• To maximize the availability of the equipment.
• To conduct Incident investigation and root cause analysis in case of equipment failure.
• To close recommendations and corrective actions and replicate the recommendations.
• To conduct and participate in reviews of breakdown failures, shutdown losses, maintenance expenditure, repair time, manpower cost, and overtime every month and identify activities for improvement.
• To share information or feedback immediately if any problems or abnormalities occur.
• To ensure availability of materials and spare.

Requirements

• Experience in mechanical maintenance in a chemical or industrial plant.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to plan and organize maintenance activities effectively.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to safety and environmental standards.
