About this position
The Shift Engineer is responsible for monitoring and controlling production processes to ensure optimal plant effectiveness and safety while adhering to established procedures and standards.
Responsibilities
• Available working in shift with 6 working days a week.
• Monitor and control process to ensure targeted production is achieved.
• To ensure optimum plant effectiveness.
• Monitor the quality of raw materials and record deviation parameters.
• Control and monitor raw materials and chemicals consumption.
• To ensure safe working environment.
• Upon taking over the shift, review process parameters and refer to the Shift Engineer Instruction Book.
• Ensure all operators, drivers, and bagging crew adhere to established procedures and work instructions for the plant.
• Verify attendance to ensure sufficient manpower is available to run the shift effectively.
• Monitor production quality at every stage of operation and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Perform troubleshooting as needed to address any process or equipment issues.
• Closely supervise shift activities and document all relevant information in the Shift Engineer logbook.
• Ensure that plant logbook entries are accurately maintained by operators.
• Enforce discipline among shift personnel to maintain order and productivity.
• Notify superiors promptly in case of plant breakdowns or emergencies.
• Take responsibility for production output and quality during the shift.
• Train and guide junior staff on plant operations and safety protocols.
• Verify that lot numbers are correctly marked and that samples are properly sent to the laboratory for analysis.
• To ensure the safety of operating personnel and process operations, and to oversee the proper and effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure compliance with production procedures and standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, TIS-18001, OHSAS, GMP, and HACCP.
• Actively participate in the implementation of TPM, WCM, QC, 5S, and KSS initiatives within the team.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in relevant industries, such as chemical manufacturing or process engineering.
