Data Governance/Quality Engineer (12 months Contract)
About this position
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Establish and maintain data quality rules, metrics, standards, and processes for validation, cleansing, and enrichment.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issues using various techniques.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and flows.
• Implement and promote data quality best practices and standards.
• Monitor, report, and audit data quality performance, providing improvement recommendations.
• Guide business units on data governance and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prioritize and operationalize Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and data quality monitoring.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Administration, IT, MIS, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in Data Quality, including project management, business analysis, or process improvement, preferably in insurance, banking, consulting, or other service industries.
• Experience with various data sources, formats, and platforms (relational databases, NoSQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes, cloud services, APIs).
• Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages (Python, R, Java, Scala).
• Knowledge of data quality frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
• Familiarity with data quality tools and technologies (Informatica, Talend, IBM InfoSphere, Microsoft Data Quality Services, Collibra).
• Attention to detail and quality orientation.
