What does a Welding Inspector do?
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Welding Inspector to join our team. The Welding Inspector will be responsible for ensuring weld quality and integrity for our production and fabrication processes. This position will involve inspecting production welds, conducting visual and dimensional inspections, monitoring welders, and ensuring weld quality standards are met. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience with welding processes, codes, and standards is a must.
Responsibilities of Welding Inspector
1. Inspect welded components to ensure that they meet the requirements of the relevant codes, specifications, and drawings.
2. Inspect welding equipment and ensure that it is in proper working condition.
3. Monitor welding processes and ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the applicable codes and standards.
4. Perform visual, dimensional and other non-destructive tests on welds.
5. Prepare reports of inspection results and maintain records of inspections.
6. Ensure that all welding personnel are properly trained and certified.
7. Recommend corrective actions when defects are found.
8. Ensure that welding procedures and welders qualifications are up to date.
9. Provide guidance to welding personnel on proper welding techniques and procedures.
10. Cooperate with the other inspection personnel to ensure the quality of the welded components.
