What does a Veterinarian do?
The Veterinarian is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to animals, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and performing surgeries as needed. This position reports to the Director of Veterinary Services and collaborates with a team of veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure the highest standard of care for all animals. The Veterinarian will also be involved in client communication and education, as well as maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities of Veterinarian
• Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in animals
• Perform surgeries and other medical procedures on animals
• Administer vaccinations and medications to animals
• Conduct physical examinations and routine check-ups on animals
• Provide emergency care and treatment to injured or critically ill animals
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care to animals
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each animal
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and techniques
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge
