What does a Tax Staff do?
The Tax Staff is responsible for assisting in the preparation and filing of tax returns, conducting tax research, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. This position reports to the Tax Manager and works closely with the finance and accounting teams to provide accurate and timely tax information and support.
Responsibilities of Tax Staff
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather necessary financial information for tax return preparation.
• Prepare and maintain accurate tax workpapers and documentation for audit purposes.
• Assist in responding to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
• Support senior tax professionals in various tax-related projects and initiatives.
• Provide exceptional client service by addressing tax-related queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
