What does a Tax Officer do?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Tax Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that taxes are filed and paid in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will provide tax advice, prepare and review tax returns, and review and respond to tax notices. You will also be responsible for researching and resolving tax issues, preparing reports and analysis, and developing tax strategies. In addition, you will communicate with internal and external stakeholders and participate in tax-related projects. Responsibilities of Tax Officer

1. Prepare and file corporate, personal and other types of tax returns.
2. Research and evaluate tax regulations, laws and policies to identify tax liabilities and recommend strategies to minimize them.
3. Resolve tax-related issues and disputes with local, state, or federal authorities.
4. Analyze financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine tax liability.
5. Prepare tax documents, such as quarterly and annual tax reports.
6. Manage tax accounts and maintain accurate records of tax payments and returns.
7. Interpret complex tax legislation and regulations for clients.
8. Provide advice and guidance to clients on tax planning and strategies.
9. Monitor changes in tax laws and advise clients on how to respond to them.
10. Educate clients on the responsibilities and processes of filing taxes.
