What does a Talent Development Manager do?

The Talent Development Manager is responsible for leading and managing the development of personnel within an organization. This position will work with senior management to enhance employee performance and engagement, develop best practices and strategies, and create development plans and initiatives to promote growth and retention. The Talent Development Manager will also analyze talent development needs and develop training programs to meet those needs. This position requires an individual with excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful talent development initiatives.

Responsibilities of Talent Development Manager

1. Create and manage a comprehensive talent development program to increase employee engagement, retention and productivity.

2. Design and deliver learning opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives.

3. Research, recommend and implement best practices in talent development.

4. Develop and manage a budget for talent development initiatives.

5. Identify and assess training needs within the organization and develop training plans.

6. Evaluate current training programs and recommend improvements.

7. Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors to support training initiatives.

8. Monitor and analyze employee performance metrics to identify skill gaps and development needs.

9. Track employee satisfaction and engagement with training programs.

10. Prepare reports on talent development initiatives, outcomes and ROI.
