What does a Senior Tax Operations Officer do?
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Tax Operations Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing tax operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax regulations, and providing tax expertise and support to the organization. The Senior Tax Operation Officer will also be required to develop and administer various tax strategies and initiatives to ensure the organization’s tax compliance and reporting obligations are met. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities of Senior Tax Operations Officer
1. Develop and implement tax strategies to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
2. Research and analyze tax issues, including complex international and state/local tax issues.
3. Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, estimates, extensions, and installment agreements.
4. Coordinate tax planning and forecasting activities, including budgeting, analysis, and reporting.
5. Monitor and advise on changes in tax legislation and regulations.
6. Prepare and review documents for federal, state, and local tax audits.
7. Identify, analyze, and resolve tax issues in a timely and effective manner.
8. Research and respond to tax inquiries from internal and external sources.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and other external advisors.
10. Manage day-to-day operations of the tax department, including staff, systems, and procedures.
