What does a Senior Tax Associate do?
The Senior Tax Associate is responsible for providing tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base. The Senior Tax Associate is expected to be able to analyze and interpret complex tax regulations and actively participate in tax planning and research on behalf of the firm. This position requires an individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment. The Senior Tax Associate must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and have a strong commitment to providing top-notch client service.
Responsibilities of Senior Tax Associate
1. Prepare individual, corporate, partnership and trust tax returns.
2. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end tax estimates and projections.
3. Research and analyze complex tax matters.
4. Assist clients in responding to IRS and other taxing authority notices and inquiries.
5. Draft and review tax planning strategies, analysis and opinions.
6. Manage client relationships.
7. Review financial statements and associated tax work papers.
8. Prepare and review tax provisions and footnotes for financial statement audits.
9. Develop and mentor staff.
10. Keep up to date on tax legislation and regulations.
