What does a Senior legal counsel do?

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legal professional to join a growing, dynamic organization as Senior Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the organization, providing guidance on a variety of legal matters, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Legal Counsel will also be responsible for managing the organization's legal affairs and providing overall legal strategy. This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of the legal landscape and an ability to think strategically and analytically. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities of Senior legal counsel

1. Provide legal advice and counsel to company management on a wide range of matters, including complex legal and regulatory issues.

2. Research and analyze existing and proposed laws, regulations, and legal issues.

3. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including but not limited to, commercial agreements, licensing agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.

4. Advise on corporate governance matters, including corporate structure, organizational documents, and internal policies and procedures.

5. Manage and supervise outside counsel in connection with litigation, transactions, or other legal matters.

6. Monitor legal developments and provide updates to management on significant legal developments.

7. Communicate with and provide legal advice to other departments, such as Human Resources, Marketing, and Sales.

8. Assist with the development and implementation of compliance programs.

9. Assist with the development of risk management strategies.

10. Represent the company in all legal proceedings and attend court hearings and mediations.
