What does a Research & Development Executive do?

The Research & Development Executive is responsible for leading and overseeing all research and development activities within the company. This includes managing a team of researchers, setting research goals and objectives, and ensuring the timely execution of projects. The position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and collaborates closely with other departments to drive innovation and develop new products or technologies.

Responsibilities of Research & Development Executive

• Conduct research and analysis to identify new product development opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement research and development strategies
• Manage and oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to commercialization
• Stay updated with industry trends and competitor analysis to ensure the company remains innovative and competitive
• Lead and supervise a team of researchers and developers, providing guidance and support throughout projects
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as suppliers and research institutions, to leverage expertise and resources
• Create and manage the research and development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the viability of new product ideas
• Coordinate and participate in product testing and validation activities to ensure quality and compliance with regulatory standards
• Prepare and present reports and presentations on research findings, project progress, and recommendations to senior management.
