What does a Quality and Reliability Engineer do?
The Quality and Reliability Engineer will be responsible for ensuring products meet quality requirements and reliability standards. This individual will lead initiatives to maintain and improve quality and reliability of products and processes. This role requires a combination of technical and operational skills to ensure products are developed and released that meet customer requirements. The Quality and Reliability Engineer will partner with other teams across the organization and work with vendors to ensure compliance to standards.
Responsibilities of Quality and Reliability Engineer
1. Develop and implement quality assurance and reliability engineering plans
2. Monitor and evaluate product performance and reliability
3. Analyze customer feedback, industry trends and production data to identify areas of improvement
4. Develop and implement test strategies to ensure product quality and reliability
5. Investigate product failures and develop corrective action plans
6. Design experiments to evaluate critical-to-quality characteristics
7. Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes
8. Train personnel in quality and reliability engineering concepts
9. Develop and maintain quality and reliability assurance documents
10. Interface with customers to ensure product satisfaction and reliability
