What does a Manager Accounting and Reporting do?
The Manager Accounting and Reporting provides strategic financial guidance and leadership for the organization in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. This individual is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, including but not limited to, month-end close process, preparing financial statements, developing and maintaining internal control procedures, developing and managing the annual budget process and providing financial analysis. The Manager Accounting and Reporting will lead and direct the accounting team and serve as a key advisor to the Finance leadership. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge and a proven ability to collaborate across the organization.
Responsibilities of Manager Accounting and Reporting
1. Develop and maintain the accounting system, procedures and reports for the organization.
2. Responsible for the accuracy of financial statements and completion of timely financial reporting.
3. Manage the preparation of the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
4. Monitor and analyze financial results and take corrective action as required.
5. Develop and implement internal control systems to ensure compliance with accepted accounting standards.
6. Manage and coordinate the external audit process.
7. Ensure timely and accurate completion of the preparation and filing of all tax returns.
8. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
9. Provide guidance and support to accounting staff.
10. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, vendors and other stakeholders.
