What does a Maintenance Manager do?

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of equipment and facilities. This role involves developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing a team of technicians, and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities of Maintenance Manager

• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and standards to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Oversee the maintenance team and provide guidance and support to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Plan and schedule maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment inspections.
• Coordinate with other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to production or operations.
• Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and implement corrective actions to prevent breakdowns or failures.
• Manage the maintenance budget and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
• Source and procure necessary equipment, tools, and materials for maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive inventory of spare parts and supplies to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among maintenance staff.
