What does a Legal Staff do?
The Legal Staff is responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to the company's legal department. This includes conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and assisting with various legal matters. This position reports directly to the General Counsel, ensuring seamless coordination and communication within the legal team.
Responsibilities of Legal Staff
• Assisting attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as contracts, agreements, and pleadings.
• Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information to support legal cases.
• Organizing and maintaining legal files and documents, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
• Drafting correspondence and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters.
• Managing calendars and scheduling appointments, hearings, and court appearances for attorneys.
• Assisting in the preparation and coordination of legal meetings, including taking minutes and maintaining records.
• Reviewing and summarizing legal documents, including contracts, leases, and court filings.
• Assisting in the preparation of trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
• Assisting in the preparation and filing of legal forms and documents with courts and government agencies.
• Providing administrative support to the legal department, such as answering phone calls, managing emails, and maintaining office supplies.
