What does a Import Procurement Officer do?
The Import Procurement Officer is a critical position in our organization. This individual will be responsible for executing the import procurement process for materials and services both domestically and internationally. This includes the sourcing, negotiating, and awarding of contracts and orders for materials and services that meet the required specifications and quality standards. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of import regulations and will possess excellent organizational and communication skills. They will be an integral part of the procurement team and will work closely with other departments to ensure successful completion of the procurement process.
Responsibilities of Import Procurement Officer
1. Manage the entire import procurement process for the organization
2. Develop and implement strategies for cost savings and efficiency improvements
3. Monitor market trends, economic conditions and industry news to inform and adjust procurement decisions
4. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure best quality, delivery, and value
5. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies
6. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet customer needs
7. Utilize available resources to research and identify potential suppliers
8. Analyze purchasing trends and develop long-term procurement strategies
