What does a Health Safety and Environmental Specialist (HSE) do?
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Health Safety and Environmental Specialist (HSE) to join our team. The HSE Specialist will be responsible for developing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety training, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding workplace safety. The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and a strong commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively are also essential.
Responsibilities of Health Safety and Environmental Specialist (HSE)
1. Develop, implement and monitor health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs.
2. Investigate accidents, incidents and complaints and recommend corrective measures to prevent similar occurrences.
3. Conduct risk assessments, analyze data and recommend corrective action plans.
4. Monitor, inspect and assess hazardous materials, hazardous waste and pollution control equipment.
5. Oversee emergency response plans and coordinate fire prevention activities.
6. Monitor compliance of local, state and federal regulations related to health, safety and environmental policies.
7. Develop and implement safety training programs for employees.
8. Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory agencies.
9. Assist in the development of safety budgets and administer safety-related budgets.
10. Maintain records and documents related to health, safety and environmental programs.
