What does a Health Safety and Environmental Officer (HSE) do?

The Health Safety and Environmental Officer (HSE) is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the company. They will develop and implement policies and procedures to minimize risks, conduct regular inspections, and provide training to employees. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities of Health Safety and Environmental Officer (HSE)

• Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for the company.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Provide training and education to employees on health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
• Maintain and update records of health, safety, and environmental incidents, inspections, and training.
• Collaborate with management and employees to develop and promote a strong safety culture within the organization.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health, safety, and environmental programs and initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date with new regulations and industry best practices related to health, safety, and environmental management.
• Coordinate with external agencies and authorities on matters related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory bodies regarding health, safety, and environmental performance.
