What does a Health Safety and Environmental Manager (HSE) do?

The Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure the company is compliant with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing HSE programs, policies and procedures and ensuring they are consistently applied across the organization. You will also be responsible for conducting audits and inspections and making recommendations for corrective action as needed. In addition, you will be responsible for developing and delivering safety training to employees and providing guidance to management on safety and environmental issues.

Responsibilities of Health Safety and Environmental Manager (HSE)

1. Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety and environmental regulations, laws and standards.
2. Develop and implement effective safety management systems.
3. Monitor and inspect workplaces, processes, and products to identify potential hazards and risk factors.
4. Develop and implement safe work practices, policies and procedures.
5. Prepare and conduct safety training for employees.
6. Investigate incidents and accidents, and recommend corrective measures.
7. Conduct safety audits and inspections.
8. Maintain records of safety inspections, training and incidents.
9. Monitor and enforce the use of safety equipment.
10. Develop and manage environmental programs and initiatives.
