What does a Forklift Operator do?
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, stack, and organize materials within the warehouse or production facility. They will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and collaborate with the team to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to follow safety protocols.
Responsibilities of Forklift Operator
• Operate forklift to load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage areas
• Safely transport materials to designated locations within the warehouse or production facility
• Inspect and maintain forklift equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage to the supervisor
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
• Organize and arrange materials in an efficient and orderly manner to maximize storage space
• Assist in inventory control by accurately counting and recording incoming and outgoing materials
• Collaborate with warehouse team members to fulfill orders and meet production deadlines
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the warehouse, including sweeping and removing debris
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Participate in training programs and stay updated on forklift operation best practices and safety regulations.
