What does a Financial Controller do?
The Financial Controller role is a key position in our organization, responsible for providing financial leadership and guidance to the business. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the business and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial information. The Financial Controller will manage, develop and motivate a large team of finance professionals, providing support and guidance to ensure that the team is able to meet the needs of the business. This role requires a highly motivated individual with excellent technical and management skills, who can lead and influence the finance team to deliver the best financial results possible.
Responsibilities of Financial Controller
1. Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management.
2. Oversee and coordinate the preparation of financial statements and budgets.
3. Monitor cash flow and develop strategies to improve financial performance.
4. Develop and maintain internal financial controls.
5. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations.
6. Evaluate financial data and prepare reports to present to senior management.
7. Advise senior management on investment activities and provide guidance on long-term financial planning.
8. Establish and maintain relationships with external auditors, bankers, financial institutions, and other advisors.
9. Monitor compliance with prescribed financial regulations and legislation.
10. Manage and track the performance of financial investments.
