What does a Farmer do?

The Farmer position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of crop cultivation and livestock management. Reporting to the Agricultural Manager, the Farmer will be in charge of planning and executing farming activities, ensuring optimal yields and animal welfare. This role requires strong knowledge of agricultural practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities of Farmer

• Planting and cultivating crops according to seasonal and company guidelines.
• Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of crops.
• Applying fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed to protect crops from pests and diseases.
• Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
• Harvesting crops at the appropriate time and ensuring proper storage and transportation.
• Monitoring weather conditions and adjusting farming practices accordingly.
• Keeping accurate records of crop yields, expenses, and other relevant data.
• Managing and supervising farm workers, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Implementing sustainable farming practices to minimize environmental impact.
• Collaborating with agronomists and other experts to optimize crop production and quality.
