What does a Driver do?
The Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods and personnel to designated locations. They will report directly to the Logistics Manager and ensure timely delivery while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
Responsibilities of Driver
• Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods and/or passengers to designated locations
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of oneself, passengers, and other road users
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition
• Load and unload goods or assist passengers with their belongings as required
• Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely delivery of goods or passengers to their destinations
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or accidents that occur during transportation
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers to provide updates on delivery schedules or any issues encountered
• Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and helpful to passengers or clients
• Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of fares collected, if applicable
• Follow company policies and procedures regarding vehicle cleanliness, appearance, and personal grooming.
