What does a Demand Planning Manager do?
As the Demand Planning Manager, you will be responsible for leading the operational planning process, working with cross-functional teams to develop and execute plans for demand forecasting, inventory management, and production scheduling. You will work collaboratively with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to ensure that customer demands are met with accurate forecasts and inventory levels. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining key metrics, identifying trends, and creating action plans to address short and long-term planning needs. This role requires a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with both internal and external teams.
Responsibilities of Demand Planning Manager
1. Develop and implement strategies that ensure accurate demand forecasts and inventory replenishment.
2. Monitor customer demand and develop sales forecasts for the upcoming period.
3. Analyze data to identify trends and seasonality in order to refine forecasts.
4. Collaborate with different departments to ensure accuracy of the demand plan.
5. Develop and maintain demand models and plans to support the organization’s sales objectives.
6. Participate in demand review meetings with sales, operations and finance teams.
7. Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.
8. Monitor and adjust inventory levels to ensure accurate inventory levels.
9. Evaluate capacity requirements and develop plans to ensure sufficient production levels.
10. Develop and implement strategies to improve demand planning processes and systems.
