What does a Cybersecurity Engineer do?
The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's cybersecurity infrastructure. This role involves identifying potential vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, and developing strategies to mitigate cyber threats. The Cybersecurity Engineer will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the protection of sensitive data and maintain a secure digital environment.
Responsibilities of Cybersecurity Engineer
• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the company's information systems and data.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential security risks.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic and security logs to detect and respond to security incidents and breaches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure network architectures and systems.
• Configure and manage security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend appropriate security measures.
• Investigate and resolve security incidents, including conducting forensic analysis and providing incident response support.
• Conduct security awareness training and education programs for employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the availability and integrity of critical systems.
• Participate in incident response exercises and tabletop simulations to test and improve the company's incident response capabilities.
