What does a Cook do?
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to the company's recipes and standards. They will work closely with the Head Chef and report directly to the Kitchen Manager. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities of Cook
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu and recipes provided
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a timely and consistent manner
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food and supplies, and place orders as needed
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute daily specials and menu changes
• Assist in the development of new menu items and recipes
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff members
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
• Continuously strive to improve cooking techniques and stay updated on industry trends and best practices
