What does a Contracts & Estimating Engineer do?

We are seeking an experienced Contracts & Estimating Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills and have a strong attention to detail. This position is responsible for preparing and maintaining contracts, cost estimates, and other related documents and will require the candidate to be able to interact with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in project-based estimating and contract management, as well as a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities of Contracts & Estimating Engineer

1. Develop and maintain a database of pricing data for use in preparing estimates and proposals.

2. Analyze customer specifications and drawings to determine scope of work, labor and material requirements, and project schedules.

3. Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for customer review.

4. Review customer contracts and negotiate terms and conditions with customers.

5. Develop and manage project budgets and monitor project costs.

6. Develop and manage project schedules and negotiate project deadlines.

7. Monitor project progress and issue change orders as needed.

8. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry contacts.

9. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment of invoices.

10. Prepare monthly reports on contract and estimating activities.
