What does a Barista do?
The Barista is responsible for crafting and serving high-quality coffee beverages to customers, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction. This position reports to the Café Manager, collaborating closely to maintain a smooth operation, uphold brand standards, and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The Barista will also assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the café, as well as handling cash transactions accurately.
Responsibilities of Barista
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
• Take customer orders and provide exceptional customer service in a friendly and efficient manner
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment to brew and prepare beverages according to company standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
• Ensure quality control by monitoring the freshness and taste of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients used in beverages
• Handle cash transactions and accurately process payments using the point-of-sale system
• Assist in training new baristas and provide guidance to ensure consistent quality and service standards
• Collaborate with team members to create and maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers
• Stay updated on current coffee trends, brewing techniques, and new products to enhance the customer experience
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
