What does a Assistant Purchasing Manager do?
The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager in managing and coordinating the purchasing activities of the organization. Responsibilities of Assistant Purchasing Manager
1. Monitor and analyze purchasing trends, supplier pricing and product availability to identify cost-effective solutions for purchasing.
2. Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms for the company.
3. Analyze purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
4. Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and inventory control.
5. Manage and maintain vendor relationships to ensure quality of service and products.
6. Ensure compliance with legal regulations related to purchasing.
7. Generate reports to track purchase orders, invoices and other purchasing information.
8. Maintain accurate records of purchases, prices and discounts.
9. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure adequate inventory levels.
10. Train and supervise junior staff to ensure efficient operations.
